The Balearic Islands (Illes Balears)
The Balearic Islands are an archipelago off the eastern coast of Spain in the western Mediterranean Sea. The four largest islands in the archipelago are Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera.
The Balearic archipelago is an autonomous community and a province of Spain, with Palma de Mallorca designated as the capital. The two official languages of the Balearic Islands are Catalan and Spanish. The islands are well-known in Europe and around the world as a vacation destination due to their Mediterranean climate of mild winters and warm, sunny summers. |
Son Servera, Mallorca

The team has been working in the municipality of Son Servera and living in the town of the same name. Son Servera is located in the eastern part of Mallorca. The municipality includes the inland town of Son Servera as well as the coastal resort destinations of Cala Millor and Cala Bona. The team will stay in the heart of Son Servera near the town square.
The LEIA Project is very thankful for the immense support from the local government, the Ajuntament de Son Servera, who have helped arrange housing, meals, and many other logistics that make the project possible. The slideshow to the left shows a variety of photos from the area in and around Son Servera. |
